Neurologist Chosen to Serve on National Committee 7 July 2008

As a leader in the care and treatment of stroke patients in Wyoming, Dr. David Wheeler, M.D., PhD, neurologist, has been chosen to serve on the Stroke Committee for the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association (Pacific/Mountain Affiliate).

Dr. Wheeler is the medical director of the award-winning stroke program at Wyoming Medical Center. Under his guidance, the program was recently recognized by the American Heart Association and featured in US News and World Reports (Best Hospitals Issue, July 2007) and is now being used as a model for stroke treatment programs throughout the state.

As a member of this committee, Dr. Wheeler will collaborate with other members to advise the American Stroke Association on the programs, products and messaging needs of those who treat stroke or those who are affected by stroke. He will serve as an advocate in the advancement of stroke issues and act as a resource for those needing stroke information.

Wyoming Medical Center is proud of this appointment and of the achievements of Dr. David Wheeler in the advancement of stroke treatment, not only in Wyoming, but on a national level, as well.

Nephrology Services Continue After Physician’s Departure 25 June 2008

Wyoming Medical Center and its affiliates are committed to providing comprehensive, quality care.  With the departure of nephrologist, Dr. Jamie Rupp, Wyoming Medical Center wants to be sure patients can still receive the care and services so important to their health and well-being.  Wyoming Medical Center will be providing nephrology services at Sage Medical Group in Casper starting July 1, 2008.  

For the hundreds of people who rely on nephrology services, they should feel comforted to know, they can still get care close to home.  Patients can set up appointments now by telephone (307-265-8300).  For a smoother transition, patients are encouraged to get their medical records transferred to Sage Medical Group prior to their appointment.  A medical release form can be found online at www.SageMedicalGroup.net under “Patient Forms.”
